The first concern that comes to mind while talking of Software Development in India is perhaps not Infosys or iGate or any other company. Rather it is that company which has an Indian owner but an American base. Glaobals Inc, headed by now 21-year-old Suhas Gopichand, was launched in 2000. With this, the Indian software development companies definitely came of age.
However, there are a number of IT firms in the country that have been in constant need of java script programmers and PHP Developers. Along with the firms based here in India, the constant inflow of the foreign firms into the Indian markets have seen a steady increase in employment for employees in the IT and the ITES sector.
One of the most interesting observations is that IT, wherever it spread, has left the place in awe. Gurgaon with the development of the technical sector has become the Indian version of Singapore. Bangalore realty prices and airfares have shot up and a person from there is by default considered a techie. Hyderabad is giving Bangalore a tough competition to emerge as the new IT capital of the country.
The new urge of industrialization of the Bengal government has found a place for the major IT companies in Kolkata - a sector that remains unaffected, come what may on the rest of the city; and with due permission from the government and the locals. Pune has also started emerging as an IT hub. Chennai does not stand too far off either.
